Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Don Brash..

The master stroke that Chris Trotter wanted is finally here..the best present for students after a long wait - the wiping of student loan interest from 2006. It will take a sizable axe to the student debt problem that makes Don Brash's pussy rebate look whimpish in comparison.

Interest free loans for tertiary education - a good thing in my opinion, a great thing - this is pretty much the next best thing to the cutting of fees. It will slash student debt, and ensure that there is a finite amount to pay off.

For example, a student burrows $2500 to do a one-year business course. Gets a job, and bada bing, loan is paid faster.

Of course the right are doing their sky will fall in routine, saying that it will encourage students to burrow to the max (like they dont already do), and the bleating about sending the wrong incentive *yawn*.

This is why Labour resisted calls to cut taxes for the rich, its because we have more important things to do, and if you dont like it, you can get fucked. Really.

Happy days are here again...

Intrest-free student loans
Publicly owned railways
Publicly owned airline,
fair labour laws,
right wingers getting tortured in prison and discredited elsew.....oops, thats wishful thinking.

Your turn, Dr Brash.

Oh please.

I mean, of all Labour's target voter groups, aren't students already the ones most likely to vote Labour?

This is such a stupid move. As David Farrar has already pointed out, this is very poor policy.
You'd have to be an idiot not to take out a student loan, whether you need it or not. It's free money.

And where does this money come from? The worker. The taxpayer.

This is kissing up to people who are already in Labour's back pocket, at the expense of the people who actually mean this country ticks over. So stupid.

Millsy, how the hell will this "slash student debt"? Students will only borrow more!

"This is why Labour resisted calls to cut taxes for the rich, its because we have more important things to do..." - what is more important than supporting the worker? Workers support our nation.

Get some perspective.

Fuck off you fuckwit - David Farrar is a fat idiot, just like you, this policy is going through, whether you like it or not, you fucking dropkick.

The rich can wait their fucking turn - we are building up, our socil infrastructure - not like you, who want to tear it down without mercy. Fucking show yourself, so I can give you a good beating.

Financial barriers to education should be low, not high, if you dont like it, you can get fucked, Im suck of people like you, Dan, and the fat idiot who will not be happy until fees are up 500% loans have 100% interest, and we have zero taxes.

Millsy, why are you raging lefties all the same; unable to engage in healthy debate without stooping to personal insults and violent threats, whilst side-stepping the issues at hand.

Why should financial barriers to education be low?
So that kids who leave school and don't want the responsiblity of being a productive memeber of society can go to uni, fail their papers and sit around and drink beer all day, all at the expense of those working? (I know thats what I used to do before I grew a brain)

Life is not cheap. It costs money to learn.
Why do you expect everything to be free?

And the rich should wait their turn? What about all this tolerance and fairness you preach. Are you saying we should be fair to everyone except the rich?

Eliminate the rich, the hard-working people who are the foundation of this nation, and you cut your beloved 'social infrastructure' off at the ankles.

Why dont you fuck off and die, dickwank.

This policy is going to be rammed through whether you like it or not. In fact, I would ram it through with tanks, tear gas and machine guns if I could.

It really must be poor policy if it takes that much effort to get it through.
Good policy should sail through unhindered, shouldn't it?

And it is very scary how someone who so strongly condemns the physical discipline of children as 'abuse' and 'violence' is so quick to spew violent threats at others.
I sincerely hope you don't have any children any time soon.

The only way we can pay for this is to get rid of free health care. And to target all union members by putting up their tax to 65%. If we drop the minimum wage to $2.50 per hour and install a 6 day week (minimum 10 hr days) Cool, My factory will then make twice as much. Also I want to be able to fire any worker I want if the dont bow and scrape in front of me...oh no wait I do that allready. Go hard Milsy...get this bill through, then when all the students come out to find no work, they can come and work for me. They dont need a decent wage, because they wont need to pay interest. WoooHooo

I was expecting something different when I visited your blog. Well I think the information on this blog is great. I have my own blog and I wish I got half as many comments as your blog does. Anyways, I am a fill in teacher at a local high school and I am always doing research on various areas of interest. This weeks topic relates 85% to your blog. I already bookmarked you for future use. If you want to exchange information I will leave my link at the bottom of this. If you dont mind I will add my 2 cents to this blog topic once in awhile. Although most of the time I just like to read and see what other peoples thoughts are! (hey I am a teacher!)
